The Library Invites You to Embark on an Enchanting Journey to

"Gichigami: The Great Lake Superior"

Travel to the majestic realms of "Gichigami: The Great Lake Superior" as the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library presents a free evening of exploration and awe on Wednesday, March 6, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Riverview Room (Level 3).

"Gichigami," derived from the Ojibwe language, translates to "a sea, a large lake," symbolizing the grandeur of Lake Superior. Join seasoned adventurers Patty and Jeff Henry, who have traversed the rugged landscapes of Lake Superior Country for five decades. Their experiences encompass camping, hiking, canoeing, cross-country skiing, skating, and snowshoeing, offering a unique perspective on the region's natural splendor.

During the event, Patty and Jeff Henry will showcase a stunning collection of photographs captured throughout their journeys over the past decade. These images, thoughtfully accompanied by recorded instrumental music, will immerse attendees in the breathtaking beauty and rich cultural heritage of the Lake Superior region.

Co-sponsored by the Sierra Club Wisconsin Chapter, this event promises to be an enriching experience for nature enthusiasts, adventure seekers, and anyone captivated by the allure of the Great Lakes.

But the exploration doesn't end there. Running from March 1 to March 30, visitors are invited to delve deeper into Patty and Jeff's adventures by visiting the library's Level 0 Display Space, where a photo exhibit offers a visual narrative of their remarkable journeys to Lake Superior.

This event is open to all, and no registration is required.
