National Night Out-America's Night Out Against Crime

The National Association of Town Watch (NATW) is sponsoring a nationwide

crime and drug prevention program called “National Night Out”, America’s Night

Out Against Crime on Tuesday, August 3 from 5:30-8pm at Carson Park in Eau

Claire. This is the 27

th ANNIVERSARY of the event. The event is FREE to the

public.

The National Night Out event provides a unique opportunity for the City of Eau Claire

to sponsor its 27

th Annual Night Out On Crime event to promote cooperative, police-

community crime prevention and healthy community efforts.

It is essential that all citizens of Eau Claire be aware of the importance of cooperation in

crime prevention programs for neighborhood safety and the impact that their

participation can have on reducing crime, drugs and violence in Eau Claire. Thus,

National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;

generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime efforts, strengthen

neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and send a message to

criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

The Eau Claire Police Department, Eau Claire Parks, Recreation and Forestry,

Visit Eau Claire, Children’s Museum, Eau Claire YMCA, DECI, and Eau Claire

neighborhoods play a vital role in assisting the Eau Claire Police Department by

supporting a healthy and safe community through joint crime and drug prevention

efforts, along with participation in healthy activities and wellness programs.

This event is supported by many community agencies, private businesses, and

individuals. Participants can experience many fun games, face painting,

giveaways, interaction with local Emergency Response and Public Service

vehicles, inflatables, food, beverages, music and more.
